Background
Transmembrane serine/threonine kinase activin type-1 receptor forming an activin receptor complex with activin receptor type-2(ACVR2A or ACVR2B). Transduces the activin signal from the cell surface to the cytoplasm and is thus regulating a many physiological and pathological processes including neuronal differentiation and neuronal survival, hair follicle development and cycling, FSH production by the pituitary gland, wound healing, extracellular matrix production, immunosuppression and carcinogenesis. Activin is also thought to have a paracrine or autocrine role in follicular development in the ovary. Within the receptor complex, type-2 receptors(ACVR2A and/or ACVR2B) act as a primary activin receptors whereas the type-1 receptors like ACVR1B act as downstream transducers of activin signals. Activin binds to type-2 receptor at the plasma membrane and activates its serine-threonine kinase. The activated receptor type-2 then phosphorylates and activates the type-1 receptor such as ACVR1B. Once activated, the type-1 receptor binds and phosphorylates the SMAD proteins SMAD2 and SMAD3, on serine residues of the C-terminal tail. Soon after their association with the activin receptor and subsequent phosphorylation, SMAD2 and SMAD3 are released into the cytoplasm where they interact with the common partner SMAD4. This SMAD complex translocates into the nucleus where it mediates activin-induced transcription. Inhibitory SMAD7, which is recruited to ACVR1B through FKBP1A, can prevent the association of SMAD2 and SMAD3 with the activin receptor complex, thereby blocking the activin signal. Activin signal transduction is also antagonized by the binding to the receptor of inhibin-B via the IGSF1 inhibin coreceptor. ACVR1B also phosphorylates TDP2.

Ordering & Delivery
How do I place an order?
Use the Inquiry button on this page or write to tekintolga89@gmail.com. Include the catalogue number and the quantity you need.
What is the dispatch time?
In-stock items are dispatched within 1-3 business days. Items that need to be produced take longer; we confirm the date when you order.
Do you ship outside Türkiye?
Shipping is arranged case by case. Contact us with the destination and we will quote carriage and lead time.
Storage & Handling
How should an unopened kit be stored?
At 2-8 °C unless the datasheet says otherwise. Do not freeze a kit that is not marked for freezing.
How long is an opened kit stable?
It depends on the component. The Kit Components table on this page lists the storage condition for each item after opening.
What should I do if the shipment arrives warm?
Photograph the package and contact us the same day. Do not use the kit until we have confirmed it is still within specification.
Assay Questions
Which sample types can I use?
The Sample Type row in the specifications above lists the validated matrices for this product. Other matrices need validation on your side.
My background is too high. What should I check?
The usual causes are insufficient washing, contaminated buffers, or too much detection antibody. Our Protocol pages cover the full troubleshooting sequence.
Can I run fewer wells than the kit provides?
Yes. Dismountable microplates let you use part of a plate and reseal the rest with the desiccant supplied.
Technical Support
Something did not work. What do you need from me?
Send the catalogue number, the lot, your protocol deviations and the raw OD values. That is usually enough to identify the cause.
Do you provide a certificate of analysis?
Yes, per lot. Ask for it with the catalogue number and lot number.
